Hong Kong Homage

Our iconic Hong Kong Homage Ginger Jar Lamp is a celebration of so much that we love about this amazing city.

It features Hong Kong's iconic skyline in all its sub-tropical glory, depicting the daily details of HK life, against the backdrop of its famous Victoria Peak. With a touch of nostalgia & whimsy, auspicious symbols combine to celebrate the city's rich culture & history. The unique design is based on a specially-commissioned watercolour by artist Fleur Kakasi.

Butterfly Polkadot

The butterfly is a symbol of happiness as well as matrimonial joy. Butterflies together represent longevity, because the Chinese name for butterfly sounds like the word, repeat meaning a long life.

Ruyi, or Fungus, featured here at the top of the jar, are identifiable by a 3 curved design. They're often mistaken for bats or clouds. This common border pattern is a homophone for the Chinese expression 'As you wish' or 'To follow one's heart's desire'.

Evergreen & Peony

In Chinese decorative arts, flowers, fruits, and trees all represent various aspects of life.

Evergreens symbolise long live and endurance, while the Peony, which is often known as the King of flowers, stands for wealth and honour.
